Education is one of the most researched aspects of life. And, whilst Lincoln’s dictum about lies, damned lies and statistics has some resonance, it is equally true that the best policy is evidence-led.
So the SFCF is dedicated to identifying, explaining and communicating the key trends and data so that policy-makers can make a reasoned judgement about the value of the Sixth Form College sector.
With research partners such as the Institute of Education and its own original surveys among members, the Forum is building a comprehensive picture about Sixth Form Colleges and their role both in education and the wider communities they serve.
This is shared with stakeholders mainly through the medium of the prospectus, the latest edition of which can be found here.
As the sector develops its own separate identity, so the SFCF will be expanding its research profile. This will help members gain greater understanding of the way they are performing, while allowing the Forum’s main stakeholders to appreciate fully the many benefits Sixth Form Colleges contribute to the prosperity of the country.
